Short answer: If you don't have your company's EmaraTax login, first try a password reset — the reset link goes to the email registered on the account, which is the same address the FTA sends your Corporate Tax reminders to. If that inbox is accessible, you're back in. If the reset doesn't work (usually an old email you can't open), use the FTA email-linking process to move the company's Corporate Tax profile onto an email you control — it takes ~21 days, keeps the same TRN, and we handle it for AED 199. Then you can file.
It's one of the most common blockers to filing a Corporate Tax return: the company is registered, the return is due, but nobody on your side has the EmaraTax login. Very often the account was created by a previous agent, a PRO, or a former partner, and the credentials never made it to you. The good news is there's a clear, legitimate two-step path back into your own account.
The problemWhy you might not have your EmaraTax login
This happens constantly, and it's rarely anyone's fault in particular. When the company was set up or registered for Corporate Tax, someone had to create the EmaraTax account — and if that was an agent, a PRO, or a co-founder who has since moved on, the username, password and even the registered email may all sit with them, not with you. You only discover the gap when it's time to file and you can't get in.
The account is still yours — it's your company's TRN and tax record. The task is simply to regain access, and there are two ways to do that, in order.
Step 1First, try a password reset
The fastest fix, and the one to try first. On the EmaraTax login page, use the forgot-password option. The reset link is sent to the email registered on the account — and the easy way to know which address that is: it's the one receiving the FTA's Corporate Tax reminder emails. If you can open that inbox, reset the password there and you're straight back in.
If the reset doesn't work: FTA email linking
The reset has one weak point: it only works if you can actually open the registered email. Very often you can't — it's an old address a former agent created and still controls, or a mailbox that no longer exists. When the reset link goes somewhere you can't reach, retrying won't help, and the correct next step is FTA email linking.
This is the process of transferring the company's Corporate Tax profile — its TRN and EmaraTax record — to a new email address that you control. Crucially, it changes only the login email: your TRN, your registration and your filing history all stay exactly as they are. Once the FTA moves the account to your email, you can log in and file.
| Password reset | FTA email linking | |
|---|---|---|
| When to use | You can open the registered email | You can’t access the registered email |
| What it does | Resets the password on the same account | Moves the profile to a new email you control |
| Time | Instant | ~21 days |
| Changes your TRN? | No | No — only the login email |
| Fastlane fee | — (self-serve) | AED 199 |
What the email-linking request needs
The linking is an owner-authorised change backed by ID — the proper way to regain access to your own account. In practice you provide:
- A signed declaration requesting the email update — stating the company name, TRN, owner name, old email and new email.
- The owner's Emirates ID for verification.
The FTA may request further verification depending on the case, but that declaration plus the Emirates ID is the core of it. Then it's a matter of processing time.
The stepsThe recovery, step by step
- Try a password reset first. Use the forgot-password option on EmaraTax; the reset link goes to the registered email — the one receiving your FTA Corporate Tax reminders.
- Check you can open that inbox. If you can access the registered email, reset the password there and log in — done. If you can’t, move to linking.
- Prepare the email-change declaration. A signed declaration with the company name, TRN, owner name, old email and new email, plus the owner’s Emirates ID.
- Submit the FTA email-linking request. The FTA transfers the company’s Corporate Tax profile to the new email you control — same TRN, same registration.
- Wait ~21 days, then file. Allow around 21 days for processing; once access is on your email, prepare and file the Corporate Tax return.
Start early — the deadline doesn't wait for access
Here's the practical warning. You can't file without access, but your Corporate Tax deadline keeps running regardless of whether you can log in. If your only route back is a ~21-day linking process, that eats a real chunk out of your filing window. So the moment you realise you don't have the login, start the recovery — don't wait until the deadline is close, or an access problem quietly becomes a late-filing problem with penalties attached.

Frequently asked questions
You have two routes. First, try a password reset on EmaraTax — the reset link goes to the email registered on the account, which is the same address the FTA sends your Corporate Tax reminders to. If you can open that inbox, you’re back in. If the reset doesn’t work — usually because the registered email is an old address you can’t access — you use the FTA email-linking process to move the company’s Corporate Tax profile onto an email you control, and then file. This is a common situation, especially where a previous agent or PRO set the account up.
Use the forgot-password option on the EmaraTax login page. The reset link is sent to the email registered on the account — and the simplest way to know which address that is: it’s the one receiving the FTA’s Corporate Tax return reminders. If you can access that inbox, reset the password there and log straight in. The reset only works if you can actually open the registered email, which is exactly where it falls down for many companies.
Almost always it’s because the registered email is an old or defunct address you can’t get into — for example, an inbox a former agent, PRO or ex-partner created and still controls, or a mailbox that no longer exists. When you can’t receive the reset link, resetting is a dead end, and the correct next step is the FTA email-linking process to transfer the profile to an email you own. Don’t keep retrying the reset — move to linking.
It’s the process of transferring the company’s Corporate Tax profile — its TRN and EmaraTax record — to a new email address that you control. You submit a signed declaration to the FTA requesting the email change, with the owner’s Emirates ID for verification, and the FTA moves the account to the new email. It doesn’t change your TRN, your registration or your filing history — only the login email — and once it’s done you can access EmaraTax and file. [VERIFY the current FTA process and timeline.]
Plan for around 21 days for the FTA to process the email change, so it’s not something to leave until the last minute before a deadline. We handle the linking — preparing the declaration, submitting it and following it through — for AED 199. A password reset, by contrast, is instant if the registered inbox is accessible; linking is the fallback when it isn’t. [VERIFY current FTA processing time.]
A signed declaration requesting the email update — stating the company name, the TRN, the owner’s name, the old email and the new email — together with the owner’s Emirates ID for verification. That’s the core of it; the FTA may ask for further verification depending on the case. Because it’s an owner-authorised change backed by ID, it’s the proper, legitimate way to regain access to your own company’s tax account.
Because you cannot file without access, but the Corporate Tax deadline keeps running regardless. If your only route is a 21-day linking process, that eats a meaningful chunk out of your filing window — so the moment you realise you can’t log in, start the recovery. Leaving it late is how an access problem turns into a late-filing problem, with penalties attached. Fix the access first, early, then file.
