Overview

Corporate tax advisors who handle it end to end

Since UAE Corporate Tax took effect for financial years starting on or after 1 June 2023, almost every business — mainland or free zone — has to register, and most have to file. Whether you're a start-up on your first return, a Qualifying Free Zone Person protecting a 0% position, or a dormant company that still needs to file a nil return, our corporate tax consultants in Dubai take the whole obligation off your plate.

We're not a form-filling shop. As an FTA-Registered Tax Agent we can deal with the Federal Tax Authority directly on your behalf, and every return is reviewed by a senior Chartered Accountant before it's submitted — because a corporate tax return is legally binding, and getting it wrong means penalties or a Voluntary Disclosure later.

Our Services

Corporate tax services in Dubai & across the UAE

From first registration to final deregistration — and everything in between.

The Essentials

UAE corporate tax, in plain terms

The key facts our clients ask about most — and where a consultant makes the difference.

0% / 9%

The rate

0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000; 9% above it. Qualifying Free Zone Persons can apply 0% to qualifying income where all conditions are met.

Everyone registers

Who's in scope

Mainland and free zone companies, and natural persons in business above the threshold. Even 0% and dormant companies generally must register and file.

9 months

Filing deadline

The return is filed and tax paid within nine months of your tax-period end — e.g. 30 September 2025 for a 31 December 2024 year-end.

AED 3M

Small Business Relief

Revenue of AED 3M or less can elect to be treated as having no taxable income — available for tax periods ending on or before 31 December 2026.

3 months

Deregistration

A business that ceases or liquidates must deregister for corporate tax within three months, or face penalties.

Penalties

Miss a deadline

Late registration, filing and payment all carry penalties; incorrect returns are corrected via Voluntary Disclosure. A tax agent helps you avoid — or manage — them.

FAQ

Corporate tax in Dubai & the UAE — your questions

Who needs to register for corporate tax in the UAE?

Almost every business does. UAE corporate tax applies to companies and other juridical persons, including mainland and free zone entities, and to natural persons carrying on a business or business activity above the threshold. Even free zone companies and those expecting to pay 0% must register and obtain a Tax Registration Number, and dormant companies are generally still required to register and file. A corporate tax consultant can confirm your obligation and the FTA deadline for your licence.

What is the UAE corporate tax rate?

The headline rate is 0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000 and 9% on taxable income above AED 375,000. Qualifying Free Zone Persons can benefit from a 0% rate on qualifying income where all conditions are met, with 9% applying to non-qualifying income. A different rate can apply to large multinationals under global minimum tax rules.

Do free zone companies pay corporate tax in the UAE?

Free zone companies are within the scope of corporate tax and must register. A Qualifying Free Zone Person (QFZP) can apply the 0% rate to its qualifying income if it meets the conditions — adequate substance, qualifying income, the de minimis test and audited financial statements, among others. Non-qualifying income is taxed at 9%. Assessing and maintaining QFZP status is one of the main reasons free zone businesses use a corporate tax consultant.

When is the UAE corporate tax return due?

The corporate tax return must be filed, and any tax paid, within nine months of the end of the relevant tax period. For a financial year ending 31 December 2024, for example, the return is due by 30 September 2025. There is a single return per tax period; late filing and late payment attract penalties.

What is Small Business Relief?

Small Business Relief lets a resident business with revenue of AED 3 million or less in the current and all previous tax periods elect to be treated as having no taxable income for that period, which simplifies its return. It is available for tax periods ending on or before 31 December 2026. Qualifying Free Zone Persons and members of large multinational groups cannot use it. A consultant can confirm eligibility and file the short-form return correctly.

Do I need a registered tax agent for corporate tax?

You are not obliged to appoint a registered tax agent, but using one gives you a professional who can deal with the Federal Tax Authority on your behalf, respond to notices, and represent you in disputes. Fastlane is an FTA-Registered Tax Agent, so we can act for you directly with the FTA — not every provider can.

How much does corporate tax filing cost in Dubai?

Fastlane publishes fixed fees: corporate tax registration from AED 199 + VAT, corporate tax return filing from AED 249 + VAT for businesses with revenue below AED 3 million, and corporate tax deregistration from AED 399 + VAT. Advisory and more complex engagements are quoted after a short review of your position. The 5% VAT is on our service fee, regardless of whether your company is VAT-registered.

What happens if I miss the corporate tax registration or filing deadline?

Missing the registration deadline carries an administrative penalty, and late filing or late payment of the return attract further penalties. If a return was filed incorrectly, it is corrected through a Voluntary Disclosure, which can carry its own penalty. Acting promptly — and, where available, using any FTA penalty-relief initiative — is the best way to limit exposure. A tax agent can help you register, file and, if needed, manage penalties with the FTA.
