Meydan Employment Visa — Emirates ID & Medical Test After Change of Status

Your IFZA employment contract is signed and change of status is done. What's next? Two procedures — Emirates ID registration and medical fitness test — before IFZA issues your residence visa. Here's the process, costs, documents, and timeline.

Where You Are in the Meydan Visa Process

By this point, you've completed: trade licence issuance, employment contract signing, entry permit (if applicable), and change of status. IFZA then sends you the next instruction:

Accomplish the following procedure and upload the scanned copies as soon as possible. We will be issuing the Residence Visa approval document. There is no need to submit your passport to IFZA.

1. Emirates ID Registration Form

2. Medical Test

That's it — two tasks. Complete them, upload the scanned copies to Meydan, and the residence visa approval is issued. Let's break down each one.

Task 1: Emirates ID Registration Form (Typing)

The Emirates ID registration form is a typed application submitted to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). It registers your biometric data and personal details in the UAE identity system.

What's involved: A typing centre completes the Emirates ID application form using your documents. Your photo and biometrics are captured at the typing centre.

Documents needed: E-Visa form (issued after your entry permit or change of status) and Change of Status form.

Cost: AED 353.91 + VAT (government typing fee).

Fastlane handles this: We complete the typing at an authorised centre on your behalf. You just show up with your documents.

Task 2: Medical Fitness Test

The medical fitness test is a standard health screening required for all UAE residence visas. It includes a blood test and chest X-ray.

Two options:

OptionCostResult TimeBest For
VIP MedicalAED 700 + VAT~30 minutesFast processing — need results same day
Normal MedicalAED 38624 hoursStandard processing — can wait one day

The VIP option is recommended if you're in a hurry — the result is available in approximately 30 minutes, so you can upload it to IFZA the same day. Normal medical takes 24 hours but costs AED 314 less.
