Who signs the two letters — and the single-shareholder quirk
The two letters are signed by two roles, which trips people up when those roles are the same person:
- The resignation letter is signed by the resigning investor / manager, in their personal capacity.
- The final settlement declaration is signed by the company's authorised signatory, on behalf of the company, and carries the company stamp.
In a single-shareholder Meydan free zone company, the investor and the authorised signatory are usually the same individual — so that person signs both letters, once as themselves resigning and once for the company accepting it. That's normal and expected; the two signatures represent the two sides of the same transaction, not two different people. The company stamp goes on the declaration.
How the two letters fit into cancelling the visa and closing the company
These letters aren't a standalone errand — they're the fuel for the first step of the closure. The running order is fixed:
